FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you currently taking on new members?

We’re full, but may be able to squeeze in one more – ask us anyway! If we can’t help, we’ll suggest another group.

What is the group like? What actually happens at meetings?

Please read our About page for more information.

How much does it cost to join Island Writers?

Membership is free, and we charge £3.50 for each group session – we meet twice every month.

When and where are the Island Writers meetings?

We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month, from 7pm-9.30pm at Emily’s house, just around the corner from Ryde library. Please use the Contact page for more information. Check the latest dates on our Meetings page.

I haven’t done any creative writing yet, but I’d like to. Can I join the Island Writers?

Yes. (You won’t be able to say “I haven’t done any creative writing yet,” after your first meeting!)

I belong to another writers’ group – may I join Island Writers, as well?

Of course. We see other writing groups as our friends, not our competitors.

Can I bring my child to group meetings?

Sorry, only people aged 18+ may attend.
